Late April and the sun was out in East Sussex. We had the pleasure of hosting a day for a group who have an epic adventure planned. In just under 2 months’ time, the lads will be riding unsupported across some of the highest passes of the Himalayas. The trip has been planned for well over a year and as part of the training the group wanted to improve their off road riding skills. Between the 10 riders there was a wide range of motorcycle experience, from 40 plus years to less than 4 hours!
Whilst we can’t replicate the terrain, climate or altitude the lads are going to experience in the Himalayas, we put on some bike handling drills that would stand them in good stead for their trip and added in some additional team building exercises that could come in handy. We had the group man handle 10 motorcycles across a small stream, from a steep sided bank, ran them through bike to bike towing and had them learn the skills for controlled downhill descents of steep gradients. They all absolutely nailed it!
Here’s a look at how the day went.
We will be watching their progress in the Himalayas with interest at the end of June.
