This time of year always brings back memories of Dakar for Patsy. Although the event is no longer held in the Western Sahara and is literally thousands of miles from Dakar itself, the grueling event has lost none of its mystique.
Back in 2006 Patsy became the first British woman to complete this ultimate challenge, arguably the hardest motorsport race in the world.
Patsy and the whole Desert Rose Team were over the moon to see Sam take his second Dakar victory on his Gas Gas Factory Rallye bike.
Mention also has to go to Si Hewitt, a good friend of the Desert Rose Team, who fulfilled his dream of finishing the race on his privately funded Yamaha WR450F.
