Ever wondered what a rallye is like? Well, a group of mates decided to do more than just wonder, they threw themselves into the rallye world by entering the 2022 Edition of the Hellas Rallye in Greece with Desert Rose Racing. Once they had signed up, the lads took the event really seriously and booked a number of training days with Desert Rose Riding Academy, working through our Stage 1 and 2 courses, through our
rallye evaluation day , a road book training day in East Sussex and a couple of them even managed to get in some road book training with us out in Portugal.
Hellas is a competitive, timed rallye and the 2022 edition was not for the faint hearted. Seven days of riding in the remote areas of Central Greece mountains. The everyday route is between 160-250 kilometers, 90% of them are off-road. The bikes were riding alongside Quads and SSVs and the terrain was everything: from stones, mud, dust, river crossing, forest, grass, through epic valleys and going from sea level to 2400 meters altitude. The event wasn’t without it’s challenges, the terrain took it’s toll on both the bikes and the riders, they even had to put some of their bike to bike towing drills into practice. Massive well done to them for taking part and getting to the finish line.
