Desert Rose’s Patsy Quick was invited to visit ESAM, East Sussex Advanced Motorcyclists for one of their regular club nights. Patsy was asked to talk about her Dakar history, the world of rallye support/assistance and the courses run at Desert Rose Riding Academy. There was a really good turnout and Patsy gave a great insight into what it takes to even get to the start line of an event as big as The Dakar.
Attendees heard all about the the attempts in 2003, 2004, 2005 and the ultimate dream finish in 2006, when Patsy became the first British woman to finish what many still believe to be the world’s toughest motor-sport event.
East Sussex Advanced Motorcyclist are an active advanced motorcycle club who aim to improve the riding skills of motorcyclists to keep them safer on busy roads. Ultimately taking them to a level where they are fully prepared to pass the I.A.M Advanced Motorcycle Test.
Whether you’re new to riding or you’ve been riding for years, travelling on today’s roads is becoming ever more challenging. All that stands between the motorcyclist and the road surface is his/her protective clothing and their riding skills.
ESAM’s moto is “Ride Better, Ride Safe, Have Fun”
