Desert Rose Racing at BikeShed London

The Desert Rose Racing team were invited to London’s BikeShed Motorcycle Club to talk to members and their guests about all things rallye and rallye raid. Since taking part in 4 Dakar Rallyes and becoming the first British woman to complete the world’s toughest race, Patsy Quick and her team at Desert Rose Racing have dedicated themselves to supporting other riders reach their own goals in the rallye world.

With the excitement around Sam Sunderland’s incredible 2nd Dakar victory only a week earlier there was a great turnout. The audience were told about the difference between rallyes and raids, the options when considering bike choice, the most appropriate riding gear and what type of accommodation to expect. Road books, GPS units, ICOs, CAP headings, waypoints, liaison stages, timed stages, bivouacs and personal training were all covered. For those who have dared to dream of taking part in the Dakar, or those who would just like to get a taste of rallye life, the Desert Rose Racing team tried to give a flavour of what to expect and what is needed to reach that goal. Two Wheels for Life Ride The Gambia

Two Wheels for Life, the motorcycle charity who support various healthcare programmes in some of Africa’s hardest to reach communities have launched details of an amazing fundraising ride in The Gambia, West Africa. Desert Rose will be supporting the ride, in the form of route planning and leading the ride. Using the Yamaha AG 100s as used by the healthcare workers in The Gambia, participants will get to ride the bikes on the same terrain and to the same villages getting a real understanding of how these motorcycles are saving lives.

Zero Motorcycles Roadshow at Desert Rose

The end of April saw the Desert Rose Compass Park venue taken over by Zero Motorcycles. The American electric motorcycle manufacturer chose the Desert Rose venue and team to help showcase their range of off road electric dirt bikes. In addition to the electric dirt bikes, the Zero Team had their on road motorcycles and scooter range on show. Over the 3 days we hosted journalists, social media content creators and customers.

Portugal Trails Never Fail to Deliver

Our 2026 Portugal Trail Riding trip did not disappoint. The south western Algarve had had some pretty wet weather in the 6 weeks prior to us arriving so the streams we have crossed in previous years had become rivers. Some days we adapted our planned routes to avoid the deeper rivers. The hills around Monchique gave us plenty of varied terrain, but this year to add in a little more adventure, we took 2 of the groups out to a little town on the Spanish border. The overnight stay in Mertola was a great addition to the schedule and we will certainly include something similar on future trips.
