Desert Rose Become a BikeShed Approved Partner

Desert Rose are delighted to have become a BikeShed Approved Partner. Since 2011, the Bike Shed has been a place of common ground, where people from all walks of life come together to share their passion for two-wheels, whether they ride a motorcycle or not. BikeShed offers their community an escape from the shallow, virtual, digital world into a space offering an authentic analogue experience, centred around motorcycle culture. Visitors leave their differences at the door to enjoy an inclusive, welcoming space, whoever they are and wherever they come from. In 2022 BikeShed launched their LA operation

Desert Rose started working with the BikeShed team in 2020, putting on BikeShed Scrambles down at our East Sussex off road venues. The scrambles became more and more popular. BikeShed Memebership Supremo, Dan and BikeShed Camerman Dan joined us on a day of off road training back in August and fair to say had a blast. We were then invited to the BikeShed Christmas Party where Patsy took centre stage with Charley Boorman, Billy Ward and Nathan Milward. In January this year, Patsy, along with Joe and Harry were back at the BikeShed talking to members about rallye life, the different type of events, from raids to full on competitive road books rallies. 3 BikeShed members threw themselves headlong into the rallye world by entering Hellas in Greece, with Desert Rose Racing support. A further group of a dozen BikeShed members, including Membership Dan, signed up for their first rallye, entering the Greek Odyssey scheduled for late September this year. Having committed to the rallye, bike training days, fitness sessions and bike prep are in full swing. The rallye evaluation days really did bring the best out in the team. Desert Rose are proud to be a part of the BikeShed community and look forward to developing this partnership and welcoming some of the LA members on future events. Two Wheels for Life Ride The Gambia

Two Wheels for Life, the motorcycle charity who support various healthcare programmes in some of Africa’s hardest to reach communities have launched details of an amazing fundraising ride in The Gambia, West Africa. Desert Rose will be supporting the ride, in the form of route planning and leading the ride. Using the Yamaha AG 100s as used by the healthcare workers in The Gambia, participants will get to ride the bikes on the same terrain and to the same villages getting a real understanding of how these motorcycles are saving lives.

Zero Motorcycles Roadshow at Desert Rose

The end of April saw the Desert Rose Compass Park venue taken over by Zero Motorcycles. The American electric motorcycle manufacturer chose the Desert Rose venue and team to help showcase their range of off road electric dirt bikes. In addition to the electric dirt bikes, the Zero Team had their on road motorcycles and scooter range on show. Over the 3 days we hosted journalists, social media content creators and customers.

Portugal Trails Never Fail to Deliver

Our 2026 Portugal Trail Riding trip did not disappoint. The south western Algarve had had some pretty wet weather in the 6 weeks prior to us arriving so the streams we have crossed in previous years had become rivers. Some days we adapted our planned routes to avoid the deeper rivers. The hills around Monchique gave us plenty of varied terrain, but this year to add in a little more adventure, we took 2 of the groups out to a little town on the Spanish border. The overnight stay in Mertola was a great addition to the schedule and we will certainly include something similar on future trips.
