BikeShed Show 2023

May Bank Holiday Weekend is set in the Desert Rose Calendar. BikeShed Show at London’s Tobacco Dock is the benchmark for how motorcycle events should be run. A weekend open to the whole motorcycle community and beyond. So whether you ride a Harley or a Triumph, a custom bike, a retro custom, a sports bike, a rallye bike, an enduro bike or you don’t ride at all, this event has something for everyone. Desert Rose were proud to have one of Patsy’s Dakar bikes on display, the KTM 660 from 2005 sat alongside Vanessa Ruck’s 2022 KTM Factory Rallye bike she used in this year’s Morocco Desert Challenge. We also ran a rallye bike build during the show, taking a stock Beta 480 RR Racing and building it up to a rallye spec bike with long range tank, rallye navigation tower, new Michelin tyres and a set of BikeShed rallye team graphics.

We got the chance to catch up with some of the riders who have booked on the next BikeShed – Desert Rose Rallye Team event, which is the Balkan Edition of The Greek Odyssey in October. This year’s event included the Shed Talks feature, where various people from the world of motorcycles got to talk about their experiences; the show’s theme of Past, Present and Future ensured the audience had plenty to think about. Desert Rose Racing’s good friend Vanessa Ruck, The Girl on a Bike,took to the stage with Chris Evans, the UK representative of the Dakar to talk about her baptism of fire in the world of rallies. BeRightBack @ Desert Rose 2026

Now in its 3rd year, the annual BeRightBack day at Desert Rose never fails to deliver. Be Right Back is a growing community for women in and around the automotive world, where passion for bikes and cars, connection and experience-making collide. It was created out of the real need for women who felt like they didn’t quite fit into the typical automotive scene and wanted a supportive, fun and empowered space to meet like-minded people, build friendships and enjoy the culture together. BRB hosts a wide range of events from casual social meet-ups like breakfast gatherings and drive-outs to special celebrations like International Women’s Day collaborations and women-centred track days and off road riding experiences. All designed to bring women together around bikes and cars in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. At its heart, BRB is about connection over horsepower, linking women who love bikes and cars not just for the machines, but for the people, experiences and shared stories that make automotive culture richer and more inclusive. BSMC Members @ Desert Rose

At Desert Rose we have a long partnership with London’s BikeShed. For the last 5 or 6 years we have welcomed groups of BSMC members to our training facilities. They have joined us on our trips in Portugal, the Pyrenees, Morocco and taken part in rallies through Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and north Africa. We have been to their epic show at London’s Tobacco Dock and hosted group chats at their Shoreditch HQ.
